Bids Kenya
How auctions work
Short, transparent auctions for pre-owned items. Your bid counts once your M-Pesa deposit is confirmed.
- 1
Sellers list for free
Every listing is reviewed by an administrator before it goes live.
- 2
Auctions have a start and an end
Each auction has a starting bid and a closing time.
- 3
Place your bid
Enter your bid on the auction page. It is recorded straight away, but it is not live yet.
- 4
Pay the good-faith deposit
Pay 10% of your bid through M-Pesa from your dashboard. This keeps out time-wasters. Your bid goes live once the deposit is confirmed.
- 5
Highest bid wins
When the auction closes, the highest eligible bid wins and every bidder who did not win is refunded their full deposit as soon as the auction closes.
- 6
Pay and receive
The winner pays the remaining 90% within 72 hours. Sellers ship only after the platform confirms payment.

Bid rules
- Every bid is a multiple of KSh 50, between KSh 500 and KSh 25,000.
- A new bid must beat the current bid by at least KSh 50.
- Bids waiting for payment do not count. The price you see is set by confirmed bids only.
- A confirmed bid of KSh 25,000 ends the auction immediately.
Fair finishes
If a confirmed bid lands in the final 60 seconds, the auction extends by 60 seconds so others get a fair chance to respond.
All times are shown in Africa/Nairobi.
What cannot be listed
- New, unused or new-in-box retail items.
- Mobile phones: new, used or refurbished.
- Counterfeits, stolen goods, or items the seller cannot legally sell.
