Listing is free. There is no fee to submit an item for approval.
Commission
- Bids Kenya charges 10% of the winning price.
- The seller receives the remaining 90%, less any disclosed payout fees and applicable taxes.
Deposits and refunds
- Deposits are 10% of your bid, paid through M-Pesa. They are not an extra fee: they count toward the price if you win and are refunded if you lose.
- If a refund fee applies, it is shown on the bid confirmation screen before you pay and recorded.
Forfeited deposits, payout fees and taxes
- If a winner does not pay the 90% balance within 72 hours (and no pause condition applies), their deposit is forfeited. It never exceeds 10% of the winning price.
- Payout fees, if any, are recorded for each payout.
Worked example: a KSh 5,000 sale
